new look for 2009
like the look I did way back in 2007. My former stylist went AWOL sometime last year. So now I patiently try to endure the not so satisfying works of my present stylist at FiX.
But still its cool to have a short hair this time coz ive been sporting the long hair look since late last year. In fairness to my present stylist he was responsible with my Greta bob and Rihanna looks. By the way Im planning long ago to try Tony and Jackie salon.
Just to have an edgy and unique look next time.

my fave MJ performance
Michael Jackson's jaw dropping opening medley performance of his hits in 1995's MTV video awards was beyond awesome. He proudly showed to the world all of his best trademark dance moves skilfully within that short majestic appearance.
It was really an unforgettable night of music and starstudded festivity.
Queen of Pop Madonna also attended and won best female artist that evening.
The last MTV video awards that really matters...

Paul's bday party
What a night! Paul's birthday will not be complete without the maelstorm of controveries. As usual every move of this "diva" always create a big fuss since time immemorial. Recently, a big bash was thrown in his honor by his agents from work in celebration of his 32nd bday held at Astoria hotel in Pasig. Alas! Paul arrived at the party three hours late from the designated time. Gosh! all hell broke loose as he dramatically arrived in the hotel. Well, a very cold reception was given to him by his guests. The peoples disappoinment were so clearly evident due to his primadonna attitude towards his own party. The first few minutes of his arrival were paid attention for some explanations and amends to his colleagues. While on the other side of the party, Jorhei,Anthony and I at first were confused by the whole tone of the evening. We felt at first that we were not so welcomed by the other guests. But we managed to be cool and understanding. Weird things happened throughout thewhole party: we were like very hungry and there were no food in sight... some paranoia of factions...then a focus on a pretty gay pageant winner turned bi.....a vomit inducing rerun of Twilight.... an Imeldific neighbor....a horny tripper cutie agent...a cake without a box... hmmm...and most especially the surprise appearance of an ex bf. Yes, the highlight of the party was obviously the attendance and somehow the comin out of drunk Simon! Paul's lover from the past. He was so shockingly very different and amusing that evenin. The thing was they were so cool to each other even though they were not an item anymore. Simon's antics overshadowed my friend Anthony. He he he... It was a very surreal event I must say. But all in all I really enjoyed the night. Its been awhile that the four of us got together again in one girls night out party. Hmmm.. i miss the old days girls...we're not getting any younger anymore...sigh!

Gone too soon
some of my MJ collection:

I started as a casual fan of the king of pop when I was just a kid. MJ was the first artist that really opened my eyes to the sensational world of MTV and pop music courtesy of my beloved cousin Kuya Ronnie way back in 1983. My cousin used to rent "Thriller videos" betamax tape to have it screen in the house while the whole family watched with awe. MJ cassette tapes were blasting on his large speakers every afternoons while I listened & beginning to appreciate the innovative music with my innocent ears.
I started to follow his career from my highschool days up to the time I rediscovered him in my late teens. Only at that time I started to become an ultimate die hard fan of MJ in the level of my fandom with the Queen of Pop Madonna. During the mid 90's I was so hooked up with the King of Pop, thats where I also started to collect almost all his expensive cd's, singles, cassettes, laser discs, books, magazines, posters etc.. I always make it to a point to be updated by the news regarding his career and life.
Then a weird thing happened during this era that Id like to share, I started to sort of mimick his persona...Well my college friends and sisters knew about this. Like, I started to flaunt more of my shy personality, becoming more eccentric, imitated his childlike & sensitive attitude, copied his long straight hair, became so addicted in lightening my skin more (totally avoided sunlight), the way he walks and talks (for friends consumption only) he he... etc..
I almost died when he brought "HIStory" tour in Manila back in 1996. When I learned he would be checking in the Manila Hotel, I immediately went there and stayed outside with matching posters plastered all over my car. I remembered vividly that I was also interviewed by a Japanese reporter regarding my fanaticism with MJ. The moment he arrived I just saw only a glimpse of him inside the van. It was total frenzy. I cant believe in my own eyes that Im seeing the King of Pop live in person. All the hair on my skin stood up. It was definitely a surreal heavenly like feeling.... Its like I saw an appartion of God. Yes, I attended his expensive two nights concert in Asia world. An unforgettable concert experience I ever had. I think his show was the climax and highlight of my longtime MJ fandom. It was a dream come true.
Then the sad day arrived. In the morning when the news circulated that he died, all of my close friends texted me regarding his sudden demise. Up to now his death still hasn't sink in yet on me. I havent cried yet.... I believe that his music will live on forever with me. A big part of my life will never be the same again. Thank you Michael for the music and inspiration.
* did u know that the title "behind the pale" was inspired by MJ?"

Ruffi's house warming party
last Sunday at his cozy apartment in Pasay City without much fanfare.
Only three people attended the event which makes it more intimate than ever.
The guests includes Shawie, Me and the ever controversial Jason partied til the wee hours of the morning. Overflowing pizza, beer and comedic flare of Shawie were the highlights of the party and made up for the absence of some of our friends.

The Damned
My recent DVD purchase:
The Damned (1969) by director Luchino Visconti
one of my fave films of all time!
This brooding, operatic movie about Nazism makes Cabaret look like wholesome family fare. The family in The Damned is a symbol of German society circa 1934. The Krupp-like steel magnate Baron von Essenbeck represents the spineless establishment. The Nazis kill the baron, then frame one heir apparent, a socialist (married to the stunning Charlotte Rampling). A bearish, boorish Essenbeck representing the SA, the Nazis' early goon squad, takes the reins. But Hitler murdered the SA in the 1934 "Night of the Long Knives," providing The Damned with its bravura action scene, a Nazi massacre at a gay SA orgy. The winning Essenbeck is the murderous, pedophilic, transvestite, mother-rapist Martin (sharp-featured Helmut Berger), who represents Nazism.

Mariah's new single!
"Obsessed" from her forthcoming cd "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel".
What a lame ass boring song! Same auto tune crap that hip hop rappers keep churning out yearly. Her track "Migrate" from E=MC2 is much better than this single. I miss the old Mariah really. Give me Emotions or Dreamlover anyday than this laughable single!

Jason's Great Escape

Another twist in the long running saga of my love affair just happened yesterday at around 12 noon. My friend informed me thru a text message that Jason packed up his things and left his pad without tellin anybody where he would be goin. He just said to my friend "Di na kami magkakaayos... babalik na lang ako pag tumino na ako." I thought we're ok already.... one week ago we were super happy...now we are separated for the first time. Oh my.. my love life is like a big roller coaster ride...

Day N' Nite
I like the unique sound of the song which is far more better than the mainstream rap I used to hear lately. It is sonically left field and intoxicatingly cool. So its no mystery why Kanye West collaborated with this new sensation in his last year's cd. I super love this song as in!

Kenny Rogers dinner

After weeks of speculations of a breakup coupled with ala cold war relationship w/ Jason, I finally decided to go out with him and had some unplanned dinner at Kenny Rogers. The truth is we're a lil bit ok now... somewhat rekindling our lost romance and trying hard to patch things up.

Anyway...
Me? I just had some low calorie meal: grilled fish w/ steamed veggies as side dish... yum!

Archie marries Veronica????!

I've been a fan of this comic book series during the early 90's. I remember back in highschool that I had so much fun in reading the saga of these young kids of Riverdale. Now on the 600th issue of the Archie comic book series in September, Archie will finally propose to Veronica to get married. Hmph! I prefer the goody goody gal Betty over the spoiled bitch ala "Paris H." Veronica noh!
