Celebration has leaked!!!

What a surprise this morning! Madonna's hotly anticipated new single entitled "Celebration" has already leaked in the web before its official radio release date next week. Thank god for the era of downloading! Never been much better... Gone were the days of preparing my blank cassette tape and waiting endlessly listening to radio crap for hours just to hear the premiere of a new Madonna song. Such a relief these days! With an instant I could easily hear and repeat the new single non stop over and over on my Iphone. Regarding the new song "Celebration", its totally the party anthem of 2009! Its not groundbreaking in Madonna standards, but its easily one of her instant, catchiest, fun and energetic songs in her whole discography. While listening to it on a full blast with my earphones I immediately so inspired to go out and to have a girls night in a bar just to sweat and dance my ass off! Imagine dancing to this song with some cutie stranger in a dark, hot and crowded club. Oooohh! I definitely miss the old days. Celebration could undeniably be comfortable to sit side by side with her other songs from Confessions on a dancefloor cd. But its more poppy and fun! She's definitely bringin the late 90's rave sound back. And another thing why I like this single is the way she sings it with the unmistakable sweet "madonna voice" from her early years. This song is definitely geared to be number one smash hit! After some lukewarm response with the hip hop Hard Candy/M Dolla last year, the Queen of Pop Madonna we all love is back on the dancefloor with a vengeance.

Mom's bday at Outback

Spotted: The Gutierrez family having some intimate dinner at Outback steakhouse yesterday evening to coincide with Ms. C's birthday celebration the day after. The girls as expected were all fabulously dressed to the nines. Gone were the days of extravagant parties thrown to Mrs. C's honor. But me and my sisters are not complaining since we slightly changed a lot for the better. Now, I just realized that such parties were such a waste of time. Especially mingling with guests and relatives that I really cant stomach to begin with. I find those kind of events overflowing with pretentions and superficiality I must say. Anyway, we really just had a memorable, simple and very lighthearted get together last night We were all laughing since the time we took a seat in one corner. My dad was always the main culprit of the funny moments everytime we go out. You know what? I cant believe my dad had the guts to ask the waitress if he could have one of the cute lil lapel pins on her uniform. The girl told my dad that the pins are sort of an "achievement" award given to them by the management. By the way he is a great collector of these kind of pins from around the world since the early 90's. Well, with his luck and charm the waitress brought one of the nice marketing guy to our table and gave my dad an exclusive Outback pin for free. After that lil scene, all we did was to take endless pics of ourselves. Talk about narcissm to the max. Then the hard part is choosing what to order because it is not just a simple task for the three glamorous children of Mrs. C. But I would most likely to reveal here that we really have an embarrasing voracious appetites. LOL!

HAPPY BDAY MOTHER!!!

Actually this was my first time to eat at Outback steakhouse since it was first introduced to our country early this decade. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with a theme of well, an Australian Outback! The service was quite good actually. The staff were very friendly and highly recommended. We enjoyed listening to the background music because it comprises songs by Madonna and MJ. The menu is not that pricey as you might think. I tried their fillet mignon and chose a couple of side dishes that includes mediterranean rice and steamed veggies. This set served with perfectly hot creamy homemade garlic potato soup. Well, the beef tenderloin cooked well done as per my request. I just realized I made a wrong choice because the succulent texture of the steak were all gone. The taste somewhat a lil bit spicy due to the various herbs and spices seasoned with it. As a matter of fact I was not really that overwhelmed by the taste neither so impressed with my orders. I was a lil bit shocked by the minimal servings of the side dishes. Maybe next time ill be able appreciate this restaurant by trying a different dish from their menu. Finally, since they were informed beforehand that its my moms birthday we were given a special heavenly dessert called choco thunder for free. I really love the fresh baked brownie and chocolate sauce underneath the towering vanilla ice cream. Yummy as in!! With that being said Il give Outback another chance.

Penn Badgley

After being hooked with the uber popular TV series "Gossip Girl" for the past few days. Im starting to appreciate more the handsomeness of this cutie actor Penn Badgley aka Dan Humphrey from the hit series. He is now the current apple of my eye after smitten by Ed Westwick before. Penn is a hotter version of John Mayer I must say. Hope to see him to appear shirtless in the future episodes. Super like him now!

Kristine and Carolyn

Kristine and Carolyn

Tin, Carol and Me

After a decade, I finally had an emotional reunion of sorts last saturday night with Tin and Carol, my two long time bestfriends from my elementary days. Before I arrived at Bo's coffee glorietta, my whole body was so tense and cold, not because of the rainy weather thats enveloping the whole metropolis. I was a lil bit apprehensive and nervous because this was the first time that I would face them as the new "me". Alas! all my fears were gone the moment I saw my girl friends. You know what? The feeling was like we only just meet up the other day. I did get comfortable quickly with their company as the minutes goes by. Eventhough our time that evening was so limited we tried to basically cover the important aspects of our colofrul lives in that one significant meeting. We only had a short but very meaningful and juicy conversation. While we were sitting at the coffee shop I looked at them and felt how I truly miss them. We were not communicating or going out together regularly like with my other friends through the years but yet you can feel the aura of closeness and warmness that clearly emanated from the three of us. I was so really at ease and didnt have such a hard time in sharing my ultimate inner feelings with them. Well, even our paths were vastly different or sometimes journeyed the rough roads throughout our existence after graduating in elementary, we've all been very lucky that we met at that fateful day in 1989 and to have each other in this lifetime. I admit that my relationship with Tin and Carol back in the day was my first ever taste of how to have an authentic lasting friendship that will shape me as a better person and as a true bestfriend at this very moment. Without them I am nothing.

Half Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the half blood prince is now my fave film of the entire series. Im not exaggerating but I have a great feeling that this one so far is one the best movies of 2009. Anyway, after my dissapointment with the adaptation of "Order of the Phoenix", Im glad this one is definitely back on track. The humor, charm and magic are all back that were sorely missing in the last installment. Hermione (Emma Watson), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) are all given a well balance exposure to show their vastly improved acting abilities. But the person that I still can't get off my head until now is the character of Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton). His unforgettable menacing and nuance acting surprised me by a mile. He truly shines in this film. Not to mention my ever fave, the superb quiet and twisted portrayal of Snape (Alan Rickman). His intimidating presence alone makes me want to get him more screen time. I adore every second of his scenes. Cant wait for his take on the next installment. Another great thing is the award winning direction of british director David Yates. I was hesitant at first in accepting the fact that hes the director again of Half blood. But he definitely proved me wrong in every way. He simply handled the direction with total virtuosity and by balancing everything in the mix. The dramatic flow of the story are smoothly executed and all of the scenes are gorgeously filmed. The breathless visual effects and the choreography of shots are all elegantly done. The brilliant cinematography makes it look like a sophisticated and stylish movie that I cant say with the other Potter series. Lastly, the one I find most powerful is the scene at the tower. It has a lot of burning tension and the tragic part is almost very sudden I must say. The final scenes still brought tears to my eyes eventhough I already read the book. Thats how great this movie works. Half blood prince is the darkest, creepiest and emotional movie in the whole series. I can still feel the fun and excitement but yet I feel at the same time the somber mood and the seeping of dread underlying in the whole tone of the film. Now I cant wait for the next and final movie "The Deathly Hallows" slated to be release in 2010 and 2011. rating: *****

Harry Potter opening day!

The most awaited day of the year has finally arrived. The day the magic of the new Harry Potter installment is unleashed. Braving the storm with heavy rains, me and Jason troop to MOA in the early dark and cold morning to see Harry Potter and the half blood prince. We really had such a good time when we go on dates like this. There were absolutely no dull moments whenever we are out together since day one. Awww so sweet..... Anyway, Im glad he absolutely enjoyed the movie eventhough he havent read any of the books for that matter. Whats funny is that he kept pestering me about the real deal with Snape and Dumbledore's twists in the story. Well, which I proudly havent divulge yet cause I really want him to be still intrigue and be surprise with the next movie "The Deathly Hallows". But that is a long wait if I may add.... he he he... we definitely love this movie. The best of the series! Gonna watch this again anytime soon.

"Paranoid"

What a cool video!!!

Kanye West "Paranoid" is the 4th single off his awesome album entitled 808's & Heartbreak.

This is Rihanna's first ever video appearance after her violent brouhaha early this year.

Ed Westwick

If I were a guy I really love to be Chuck Bass, Ed Weswick's infamous character in the hit tv series Gossip Girl. But since we all know what I am, I'll just accept the fact that I could only be stuck with Serena Van Der Woodsen as my alter ego. LOL! Anyway, Ed is not only my fave actor in GG but also one of my longtime instant crush since he hit the tube in 2007. I know he is not so well adored in terms of physical looks by the viewers unlike Chace Crawford. Yet for me I really find him very cute though. In addition not only I like his great fashion sense and the way he carries himself but I also super love his man bitchy potrayal of Chuck Bass. Hands down with his perfect brooding acting! The series becomes more and more interesting whenever he and Leighton Meester enters each frame. He's one of the most gifted but underrated young actor right now in Hollywood I must say.

Kevin Zegers

Kevin Zegers is my current Hollywood celebrity obsession. He is so damn alluring and irresistibly cutie. Definitely an eye catcher! The guy is just too hot to handle on the shirtless scenes in every movies he made over in the past. Delectable in many ways and too generous in terms of showing off on screen his smooth and fresh body since he was a kid.
It makes me think now that he was so exploited at an early age. He he he....
Anyway, I enjoyed looking at the tons of movie stills of his yum yum flesh in the web.
Two thumbs for this awesome hottie star!

The Third Man

The Third Man is a 1949 British film noir, directed by Carol Reed, starring Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli and Orson Welles. It was one of the all time great films ever made. I was fascinated first and foremost by the dramatic look and the unforgettable images of the film. The brilliant use of the atmospheric black and white photography, the lighting techniques, the deep shadows, the sound of steps in cobblestones and water rushing in the sewer are in a way a great film going
experience in watching an all time classic. It perfectly captured the whole tone of the film. The bare bone plot but with an intriguing and mysterious twist is suspenseful
enough. And the short appearance of Orson Welles is so remarkable. His performance coupled by a great dialogue is superb in an iconic level. The only thing that I dont appreciate is the film soundtrack. I admit that the instrumental thingy that keeps popping out are so annoying and a distraction for me. Anyway this is an authentic film noir classic that is definitely worth my time.

my recent magazine purchases

First of all I would like to commend booksale shops for being the only place in town where I can find cheaply priced back issues of my fave mag Entertainment Weekly! Dont get me wrong guys, I also buy the expensive current issues of this mag but on case to case basis only. Like I only purchase the important covers in which I think will be hard to find in the future. For example the seasons movie preview issues, Harry Potter, Big movies, Madonna, my fave stars, year end issue etc. Now my great find is the "Julia Roberts comeback" cover story. Very thankful that I got the two important issues of TIme and Newsweek both featuring "The King of Pop". Lastly thank you also for my sis April in supporting my "kalokahan" by hunting for me the almost out of stock Starstudio magazine which features Gerald on the cover. My super "now" crush in local showbiz. Thats all folks! Happy Reading!
.....and the list of my recent magazine splurge:
1. Time magazine: MJ special edition (July 2009)
2. Newsweek: MJ cover (July 9, 2009)
3. Entertaiment Weekly: Julia Roberts and Clive Owen (March 20, 2009)
4. Entertainment Weekly: Jennifer Hudson (April 10, 2009)
5. Entertainment Weekly: Natasha Richardson (March 27, 2009)
6. Entertainment Weekly: George Clooney (March 13, 2009)
7. Starstudio: Gerald Anderson (July 2009)

Confessions of a shopaholic

So hilarious! I was crying with laughter during the endless funny scenes. A dash of sweet romance coupled with non stop slapstick comedy makes a hell of a kind movie. Isla Fisher (wedding crashers) is the bomb and a joy to watch. She's so an abashedly funny to the max!
Well, "Confessions" is really a great way to pass away time and to forget the day to day woes we are encountering right now . Though the movie is somewhat like a facade of just mindless fun but in essence it has a very appropriate theme with regards to the world's current economic situation. Thus, to give importance in saving our own hard earned money and by differentiating clearly the wants and needs in our lives. While it also magnifyingly show us how the evils of credit cards can ruin life. It also definitely teaches a valuable lesson in changin of our old habits and conquer the addiction that we sometimes keep denying with ourselves.

So excited to watch this!!!
Brings back my happy childhood memories!
Nostalgia plus my two crushes Channing Tatum and Marlon Wayans
plus sleek action scenes equals to total movie awesomeness!!!
Marlon Wayans is one of my longtime crushes since I saw him in 2000's critically acclaimed film "Requiem for a dream" . Since then he was included in my growing list of hot black hunks in Hollywood. I really find him simply very cute, adorable and uber hot!!!
GI JOE opens on August 7, 2009

Chris Evans

Exaggeration or not, but my internal organs goes amok to the point of having a body seizure everytime I see Chris on screen or pics.
Ive been fantasizing this ultimate hollwood beefcake forever since I first discovered him in a so so movie called "Cellular" way back in 2004. This was before his rise to fame with his career defining role as Human Torch in the blockbuster "Fantastic Four".
Definitely Im not a fan of his works but his face and body alone
is worthy of my undying devotion to patiently watch his movies.
Hope to see him more of his shitless este shirtless movies in the future!

new look for 2009

The truth is I hate my new haircut.....nothing spectacular or groundbreaking
like the look I did way back in 2007. My former stylist went AWOL sometime last year. So now I patiently try to endure the not so satisfying works of my present stylist at FiX.
But still its cool to have a short hair this time coz ive been sporting the long hair look since late last year. In fairness to my present stylist he was responsible with my Greta bob and Rihanna looks. By the way Im planning long ago to try Tony and Jackie salon.
Just to have an edgy and unique look next time.

my fave MJ performance

Michael Jackson's jaw dropping opening medley performance of his hits in 1995's MTV video awards was beyond awesome. He proudly showed to the world all of his best trademark dance moves skilfully within that short majestic appearance.
It was really an unforgettable night of music and starstudded festivity.
Queen of Pop Madonna also attended and won best female artist that evening.
The last MTV video awards that really matters...
