Mom's bday at Outback

Spotted: The Gutierrez family having some intimate dinner at Outback steakhouse yesterday evening to coincide with Ms. C's birthday celebration the day after. The girls as expected were all fabulously dressed to the nines. Gone were the days of extravagant parties thrown to Mrs. C's honor. But me and my sisters are not complaining since we slightly changed a lot for the better. Now, I just realized that such parties were such a waste of time. Especially mingling with guests and relatives that I really cant stomach to begin with. I find those kind of events overflowing with pretentions and superficiality I must say. Anyway, we really just had a memorable, simple and very lighthearted get together last night We were all laughing since the time we took a seat in one corner. My dad was always the main culprit of the funny moments everytime we go out. You know what? I cant believe my dad had the guts to ask the waitress if he could have one of the cute lil lapel pins on her uniform. The girl told my dad that the pins are sort of an "achievement" award given to them by the management. By the way he is a great collector of these kind of pins from around the world since the early 90's. Well, with his luck and charm the waitress brought one of the nice marketing guy to our table and gave my dad an exclusive Outback pin for free. After that lil scene, all we did was to take endless pics of ourselves. Talk about narcissm to the max. Then the hard part is choosing what to order because it is not just a simple task for the three glamorous children of Mrs. C. But I would most likely to reveal here that we really have an embarrasing voracious appetites. LOL!

HAPPY BDAY MOTHER!!!

Actually this was my first time to eat at Outback steakhouse since it was first introduced to our country early this decade. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with a theme of well, an Australian Outback! The service was quite good actually. The staff were very friendly and highly recommended. We enjoyed listening to the background music because it comprises songs by Madonna and MJ. The menu is not that pricey as you might think. I tried their fillet mignon and chose a couple of side dishes that includes mediterranean rice and steamed veggies. This set served with perfectly hot creamy homemade garlic potato soup. Well, the beef tenderloin cooked well done as per my request. I just realized I made a wrong choice because the succulent texture of the steak were all gone. The taste somewhat a lil bit spicy due to the various herbs and spices seasoned with it. As a matter of fact I was not really that overwhelmed by the taste neither so impressed with my orders. I was a lil bit shocked by the minimal servings of the side dishes. Maybe next time ill be able appreciate this restaurant by trying a different dish from their menu. Finally, since they were informed beforehand that its my moms birthday we were given a special heavenly dessert called choco thunder for free. I really love the fresh baked brownie and chocolate sauce underneath the towering vanilla ice cream. Yummy as in!! With that being said Il give Outback another chance.
