The passing of our beloved former President Corazon Aquino was a great loss to our country. The last remnants of a public servant with great honor and honesty also dies with her. She exemplified the true strong leader in a nation rocked by instability after the dark years of Marcos dictatorship. Her term as a president was after all not that perfect. She was simply a dedicated housewife thrust in by the people in the political stage to face and miraculously brought down her behemoth like adversary. This woman sacrifice heavily to regain again the public trust with the government and restored democracy. She gloriously put the Philippines back in the world map and to be looked upon with utmost respect by the international community. Cory did not crave for power like the others, as her ultimate goal was to continue to preserved the freedom that is really due to all the filipino people. She continued to fight tyranny and corruption until her last days on earth. A true modern day filipina hero: selfless and has a pure heart throughout her whole life. The genuine outpouring of emotion shown by the thousands filipino people at the time of her death and funeral clearly meant that the magnitude of love and dedication she gave for the country was finally returned to her. I am so proud to be a filipino these days and so glad that I witnessed this part of history. She was truly a unifying force in this country. She gave us all the hope in the world during our desperate times. After all been said and done, no matter how many accomplishments a president has, its the integrity of the leader that is most important. How I wish all the politicians have that single kind of quality living underneath their thick corrupted skins. Thats what we really need in our present slowly crumbling government. I believe now that integrity is Aquino's true legacy that will last forever in the minds of the people. Thank you very much Cory for all the good deeds you have done for the country. I promise to continue to fight against any forms of tyranny that might usurp the nation in the present and future. Long live the Queen of the People Power!
